What Socrates is

Socrates, part of Clanwilliam, is a practice management system widely used by GP practices and clinics in Ireland to manage patient records, appointments, and clinical workflows. It is one of the most common systems in Irish general practice.

How Neutropy connects

Neutropy reads referral and scheduling context and writes confirmed appointments back through supported, standards-based interfaces, coordinating with the practice's integration setup. Where referrals flow out of Socrates as HL7 messages, Neutropy can consume them directly. All patient identifiers are removed before any free-text reaches a language model.

In practice

A practice or clinic running Socrates generates and receives referrals that then sit waiting to be actioned. Neutropy reads the referral, contacts the patient, and books the appointment, writing it back so the diary in Socrates stays the single source of truth. The practice keeps its existing Clanwilliam setup and staff workflows while the slow, manual outbound-calling step is handled automatically.
