What MEDITECH is

MEDITECH is a long-established electronic health record vendor whose current platform, MEDITECH Expanse, is used by hospitals and health systems to manage the patient record, orders, and scheduling in a single web-based system. It is deployed across acute hospitals in Ireland, the UK, and internationally.

How Neutropy connects

Neutropy reads referral and patient context and writes confirmed appointments back into MEDITECH scheduling through standards-based interfaces, using HL7 v2 messaging and FHIR APIs where the site has them enabled. Every write is logged and reconciled against the record already in MEDITECH, so a booking Neutropy makes shows up the same way a booking made by a clerk would. No patient identifiers ever reach a language model.

In practice

A hospital running MEDITECH Expanse receives GP referrals that still have to be triaged and turned into booked clinic slots by hand. Neutropy reads each referral, calls the patient to offer a suitable slot, confirms it, and writes the appointment straight into MEDITECH scheduling. The clinic keeps its existing worklists and clinicians see the appointment in the record they already work from, while the manual gap between referral received and patient booked drops from days to minutes.
